In Guru Dutt’s Horoscope, maximum planets are posited in the Cancer sign, which proves that he was an extremely emotional and sensitive person. Moon (Lord of Cancer Sign) is posited in the Sixth House (of Disease, Enemy, Debts, and Slavery) in his Horoscope. There is a combination of Moon and Saturn in his Birth Chart, which proves that Dutt was a very soft-hearted person. Moreover, the position of Moon-in his Horoscope-is representing his feelings and emotions. The placement of Moon in the Sixth house made him sentimental and soft-hearted person. This very placement of Moon is one of the major reasons why he faced many ups and downs in his life.

Guru Dutt attempted suicide thrice during the years 1960 to 1979. This particular period came under the main period of Saturn (Lord of Sixth House). The conjunction of Rahu and Mars with ascendant Lord validates that he had self-destructive tendencies, which resulted in repeated suicide attempts.
