This is a planetary combination which indicates the possibility of imprisonment in one’s chart. There can be physical as well as mental isolation, which can be termed as Bandhana yoga. This yoga is described in “Jataka Tatwa” by Mahadeva. If malefics are in 2, 5, and 9th, then there are higher chances for imprisonment.

In that text he says, there should be a malefic planet in the 12th house. Saturn also must get afflicted in the chart.

Main indicators for Bandhana Yoga are Rahu, Saturn, and Mars.

Rahu is known as an outcast planet and primary karaka for being sent to jail. It has a feature of being a rebel and making false accusations.

Saturn is also the planet of Karma and also known as a judge. During the Saturn dasa, Saturn antardasa and sade sati, we will get the results of what we did in the past.

Mars is aggressive energy and it is the indicator of violent expression as well. If these three planets are somehow connected with each other, in a malefic manner, then there are chances for imprisonment

Important Houses for Legal Issues

The 6th house - House of litigations and enemies.

If you have to win the legal wars, your 6th house and 6th lord should be strong enough. A weak 6th house and 6th lord hence indicates losses and defeats. There are higher chances of challenges during the mahadasa and antardasa of the 6th lord. It doesn’t have to be legal issues always.

The 8th house

This yoga is formed when Saturn, the ascendant lord and the lord of the sixth house are placed either with Rahu or Ketu in Kendra or Trikon house. The Lagna, fourth, seventh and tenth are angular houses and fifth and ninth are the triangular houses. This yoga will cause the imprisonment of the native. The evil effects of this combination will be reduced when Saturn itself is the ascendant lord.

There are other conditions like when the same number of planets are in 2–12 houses, 3–11 houses, 4–10 houses, 5–9 houses and 6–12 houses.

Planets situated in the 12th, the 2nd, the 5th and the 12th indicate bandhana i.e. confinement. An equal number of planets situated in the 2nd and the 12th or in the 5th and the 9th or in the 6th and the 12th or in the 3rd and the 11th or in the 4th and 10th give rise to Bandhana yoga.

Bandhana yoga is also caused if at the time of birth, the lords of the Lagna and the 6th house occupy a kendra or a trikona in conjunction with Saturn

If the Ascendant lord is fully afflicted and if it is aspected by the 6th and 12th lord, then, there are chances for imprisonment.

If the lagna lord is either Saturn or Mars and if they are in conjunction with the 12th lord and lord of 9th and also is afflicted, then transit of Saturn or Mars through 6th or 12th or Ascendant can bring chances of imprisonment.

Still, every chart has a different story to say and you should not see one condition will be applying for all the charts.

According to Jatak Tatva there should be malefics in 2nd, 5th and 9th house. His chart has retrograded Saturn in the 2nd house, Ketu is in the 5th house and malefic planet the Sun is in the 9th house. So, the conditions for Bandhan yoga according to Jatak Tatwa is highly fulfilled. So, you should always look for the pattern seen in the chart. Saturn is highly malefic and that has a crucial role in bandhana yoga.

Another condition is there should be an equal number of planets on both sides of lagna. Lagna is known as the physical body and when equal planets are there, then there are chances for restriction of freedom. The freedom for movement and speech will get restricted.

If the lagna lord also has an equal number of planets on either side, then that also can indicate some kind of confinement. It doesn’t have to be physical confinement as well.
